Recently our second baby was born. The difference in experiences between raising the first and the second is chalk and cheese With the first baby it was all theoretical. We had had classes, watched dvds, read books and questioned experienced parents. We felt as prepared as we were ever going to be. hen I held our first child in my hands I thought I can do this. Together my wife and I went through all the things we’d learnt discovering how to be a parent. Now we know. We’re comfortable. We’ve got the tried and true theories in our heads and now we’re just going by rote. It’s a relaxed atmosphere. We go about our usual routine while the baby lies on its bed. It cries and we check her nappy, comfort her and feed her. Then put her back down and go back to whatever else we were doing.
